From the first note on one hears an important voice of considerable power and ring. I like Vezzani in other things – here, he leaves me disappointed. I find in Vezzani´s voice a little of a French Pertile, though as a singer he is not in Pertile´s league. Sturdy singing, little refinement, forced high notes, shortness of breath and a spread vocal focus deriving from singing with too much pressure through the passaggio – starting right at „Asil heredi-TAI-re“ and ending with „pour la dernIE-re fois“. Little to treasure here for me, apart from the fact, that the type of voice would fit the role – alas, the singer is not up to it.
